Dear Students and Families,
Room 104 continues to be constantly on the go this year! We have visited many places in the community such as Barnes and Noble, Stop n Shop, Lyndhurst Diner, and Flippin Out. We are also getting to know and work with Cheney the therapy dog on Friday afternoons.
We have welcomed three new students to 104 since September. We continue to create a positive learning environment for the students to succeed both academically and socially. The objective of the classroom is to teach the students through repetition and positive reinforcement while having fun!
Maintaining open lines of communication is key to student success. We can communicate daily through the Home-School Communication book or email.
During the school year, our class will be learning about various topics such as the four seasons, weather, holidays, animal habitats, sight word vocabulary, community signs and locations. In February, we learned about Louis Armstrong and painted trumpets for Black History Month. For the 100th Day of School we used an Aging Application to predict what we would look like at 100. We continue to use movement and dance to generalize math and language art skills.
If you have any questions or concerns or if you would like to visit our classroom, schedule a conference, or volunteer to help out, you can contact me at mfisher@the phoenixcenternj.org. The best times to reach me are 8:30-9:00am or 2:30-3:00pm.
I look forward to the continued success of the students of Room 104!
