Dear Students and Families:
Greetings from Room 106!
This past marking period, Room 106 has been to Target, Stop & Shop, and Barnes & Noble on CBI (Community Based Instruction). We will continue to visit these places as well as add McDonald’s to our list!
In Social Studies, we have been working hard on lessons about national holidays/events such as Martin Luther King Day, the Super Bowl, and President’s Day. We recently celebrated Read Across America week where we made a “One Fish, Two Fish” hand craft, pudding that looked like green eggs and ham, and our own “oobleck” from “Bartholomew and the Oobleck.”
We have been enjoying doing group lessons with our friends in Room 109! We worked together on a winter lesson decorating our own cold weather clothing, as well as a fun Valentine’s Day lesson making heart shaped treats! Stay tuned to see what fun things we will do with them this marking period!
I’m looking forward to continuing to collaborate with you on lessons we learn in class and how to generalize them for our students at home. We love taking pictures and sending them home so please continue to check the Home-School Communication books daily.
Maintaining open lines of communication is key to student success. We may communicate through the daily Home-School Communication book or email. If you haven’t already done so, please be sure to let me know your preference in order for us to best share information.
If you have any questions or concerns you can contact me at or write in the daily communication books. If you would like to schedule a conference, or volunteer to help out, please call The Phoenix Center at 973-542-0743 and speak to Diane Hayes at extension 303.
