Room 205 – Meg DiNapoli

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to Room 205! It has been a pleasure getting to know all of you and your wonderful students over the course of the first marking period! I’m looking forward to continuing getting to work with your children as well as continuing our exciting and productive school year.

Our educational programming continues to focus on Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Technological Literacy, Life Skills, and Structured Leisure Skills that meet the specific individual academic and social goals and objectives of each of our students.

Maintaining open lines of communication is key to student success. We may communicate through the daily Home-School Communication book or email. Please be sure to let me know your preference in order for us to best share information.

This marking period, Room 205 will be participating in community outings to Barnes and Noble and AC Moore where we will practice locating items from our lists as well as purchasing items for the classroom. This past marking period we had a restaurant outing at the Lyndhurst Diner where we worked on our social skills by enjoying a delicious breakfast with friends and practicing our ordering skills. We also participated in interactive lessons on holidays such Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Chinese New Year, and St. Patrick’s Day. We recently had our Valentine’s Day dance where we enjoyed lots of singing and dancing! Each month, we will continue to focus on important holidays of all cultures and complete fun activities that help us learn about them.

If you have any questions or concerns or if you would like to visit our classroom, schedule a conference, or volunteer to help out, you can contact me at mdinapoli@thephoenixcenternj.org or (973) 542-0743 ex. 205. The best times to reach me are between 8:30-9:00am or 2:30-3:00pm.

Once again, welcome to Room 205. Let’s continue working together to make this the best year ever!

Sincerely,

Meg DiNapoli
