Room 97 – Lewis Odige

Dear Students and Families,

Winter is coming to an end and Spring is right around the corner!

This marking period has flown by!

For Community Based Instruction (CBI), the students frequented Stop & Shop, Target, and AC Moore this marking period. The students were able to purchase groceries for cooking lessons and supplies for arts and crafts. The students were able to locate and/or obtain items from a shopping list and pay for them. The students also enjoyed a meal together at McDonald’s. Room 97 also visited Flippin’ Out Tumbling and Gymnastics throughout the month January. The students had fun! The students were introduced to Olympic apparati which included uneven bars, a balance beam, and floor exercises. The students thoroughly enjoyed using trampolines and navigating challenging gymnastic obstacle courses. Room 97 is scheduled to go bowling in May.

I look forward to continuing to work with you and collaborating on the best ways to practice and generalize the lessons learned in our classroom.

Maintaining open lines of communication is key to student success. We may continue to communicate through the daily Home-School Communication book or email. If you haven’t done so already, please be sure to let me know your preference in order for us to best share information. The Phoenix Center will have Parent-Teacher Conferences on March 17th and I look forward to meeting with you then.

If you have any questions or concerns, would like to visit our classroom, or volunteer to help out, you can contact me at 973-542-0742 Ext 197. The best times to reach me via telephone are 8:30-9:00am or 2:30-3:00pm.

Sincerely,

Lewis Odige
