Dear Students and Families:
Greetings from Room 106!
I am so excited for another amazing school year! In Room 106, the goal is to create a positive learning environment for the students to succeed both academically and socially. The objective of the classroom is to teach the students through positive reinforcement, verbal praise, and functional academics.
This year, Room 106 will attend CBI (Community-Based Instruction) to many exciting locations. Some of these include: Target, Stop & Shop, Barnes & Noble, Richfield Farms, and even some restaurants!
We will be enjoying many Science and Social Studies group lessons. In Science, we will cover concepts, such as the solar system, recycling, animals and their habitats, and much more! In Social Studies, we will also cover topics related to national holidays and current events.
Maintaining open lines of communication is key to student success. We may communicate through the daily Home-School Communication book or email. If you haven’t already done so, please be sure to let me know your preference in order for us to best share information. I’m looking forward to continuing to collaborate with you on lessons we learn in class and how to generalize these skills at home. We love taking pictures and sending them home so continue checking the Home-School Communication books daily.
If you would like to schedule a conference, volunteer to help out or have any questions or concerns you can contact me at SCicala@thephoenixcenternj.org, write in the daily communication book., or by phone 973-542-0743 x106. Please do not hesitate to get in contact with me. The best times to reach me are between the hours of 8:00 -8:30 AM or 2:45-3:00 PM.
